History

Located in a Saratoga landmark, built in 1902.

building

The building’s history is chronicled by a collection of vintage photographs that decorate the walls.  Through the years the building has housed many well-known businesses. Originally it was a stained glass shop owned by G.H. Reeves. Two unique stained glass windows are located on either side of the front entrance.

Over the years it became home to Waring Marker, Tannebaum’s Market, and more.  In 1969, the Golden Grill opened and an outdoor patio was added in the 1990s.

In 1999, Bailey’s Cafe started extensive renovations to preserve the architectural integrity and historic look we see today.  The building was restored to its turn-of-the-century look with original tin ceilings, stained glass windows, hexagonal floor tile, and brick walls with wainscoted interior.

Today, Bailey’s Cafe is a family-friendly restaurant with a spacious outdoor patio.  Offering local ingredients sourced from surrounding farms such as Pleasant Valley Apiary, Pucker’s Gourmet, Battenkill Valley Creamery, and Nettle Meadow.  Bailey’s innovative food selection, refreshing cocktails, and frequent live entertainment make it the place to be seven days a week.
